Salary Range: $87k - $95k, commensurates with experience & education

Hours: 3pm - 11:30pm, rotating weekend on call

JOB PURPOSE:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Sr. Director of Nursing & Admissions, the Nurse Supervisor is responsible for coordination and collaboration with the Administrative Leadership, Interdisciplinary Team and Affiliated Support Agencies to ensure client centered care and regulatory compliance. The Nurse Supervisor will possess a thorough knowledge of the principles of nursing, withdrawal management and substance use disorder, engaging the Nursing team in Evidence-Based practice standards to ensure high quality program services.

 

TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Acts as designee in absence of supervisor or as assigned.

·         Develops and maintains nurse staffing schedule.

·         Adjusts staff assignments and schedules appropriately to provide adequate coverage in all clinical areas and in alignment with the nursing budget.

·         Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure all client care needs are addressed throughout treatment episode. 

·         Assess and develop workflow structure in collaboration with facility department leaders.

·         Escalates issues or concerns to administrative team.

·         Inventories stock medication and supplies and completes requisitions as needed.

·         Assists nursing staff when the need arises with med passes, new admissions, medical lectures, coordination, and retrieval of medication deliveries etc.

·         Delegates nursing assignments and tasks.

·         Performs rounding and supervision on assigned staff.

·         Assists in maintaining nursing staff initial and annual skills checklist, including the required regulatory training.

·         Assists in Coordinating the orientation/precepting of new nursing staff.

·         Develop and maintain Medical Lecture schedule in accordance with regulatory requirements of RRCOOC.

·         Develop and maintain weekly staff assignments.

·         Assist in Identifying and investigating unit-based problems and collaborating with the Senior leadership team in their resolution.

·         Demonstrate leadership and delegation of tasks and duties in direction and coordination of unit activities.

·         Collaborate and communicate with administrative leadership regarding issues related to client care, safety, and satisfaction.

·   Assists the Nurse Manger and Sr. DON&A in Ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining records of reporting (DEA, Justice Center, OASAS, DOH), developing/conducting quality assurance audits and documentation review, in collaboration with the leadership team.

·         Assists the Nurse Manager in Ensuring admission assessments are properly completed and necessary and required consent and disclosure, identification, and financial documents needed to admit client into the program have been obtained and properly uploaded to the client’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

·         Oversees completion of admissions Level of Care for Alcohol and Drug Treatment Referral (LOCATDR).

·         Comply with RRCOOC’s policy and procedures.

·         Maintain and participate in on-call Nursing Supervisor schedule.

·         Additional responsibilities as appropriate.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·     Associates degree (AAS), from an accredited school of nursing

·         BLS certification (through American Heart Association)

·         Current New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing

·         Minimum (1.5) year of experience in nursing as a Registered Nurse
